The timeline forecast is very useful. In addition to the hourly forecast I'm looking to receive the 12hr aggregate hours so I can show nightly weather condition in my app.
Also do are the rain/snow total amounts returned totals for the full 24hr period?

Right now, in the timeline API we don't have a way to aggregate to 12 hour periods, just the calendar day. We do offer 6 and 12 hour aggregations in our /forecast endpoint.
Do you have a particular 12 hour period you are hoping to aggregate (for example 6am-6pm for day and 6pm-6am for night). We will pass this information on to our Timeline API development team to see where it fits in the plan.

Thanks for the swift response! I'll make sure to add a call to the forecast API. I might actually do it on the user end to save a call. Are you just finding the most common weather for that block and assigning that to the condition param?
To answer your question: 6-6 blocks sounds about right!
The description and icon fields generally use a set of 'priority' rules for the conditions. More severe conditions such as snow, rain or fog will be used as the description rather than cloud cover, temperature etc. where appropriate.
The timeline api does have more extensive descriptions than the forecast endpoint including intraday trends ("Rain in the afternoon") and other items.

Thanks for the help! Last question. Does the 12hr aggregate from the weather API forecast call return an icon value? If not I can probably parse the condition given in the 12hr block since they are similar.
Yes the 12 hour aggregate will include an icon. The forecast api doesn't distinguish between night and day icons for 12 hour aggregation

No prob. Wrote a little Kotlin function to grab the appropriate icon based on the 12hr condition if you guys ever need it!!
