Why would the high and low temperatures for today and the next few days be vastly different for several locations than the forecast data from weather.gov? I am looking at seven locations and for three, the forecasts are identical, for two they are very similar, but for two they are vastly different (15-20 degrees F).
I am using latitude and longitude and have triple-checked my entries.

Thank you for your question. In general we would expect our forecast to match weather.gov very closely. Would you be able to provide a couple of example latitude, longitude locations where the forecast isn't matching so we can investigate? Thank you for the locations. The locations listed are within the Grand Canyon and so the forecasts are likely to be influenced by their proximity to the canyon and the significant altitude differences between the rim and canyon floor.
It appears the small forecast grid cells for those particular locations in the Canyon are currently including areas for both the rim and canyon and so the temperatures forecast will be reduced. We have passed these feedback on to our forecast modelling team to incorporate into the next version of the forecast model.
