Some questions about units etc.

• „temp“: This is the average temperature of the whole 24 hours (day + night), right? And you don´t provide an average temperature only of the daytime, also right?
• „feelslikemax“, „feelslikemin“, „feelslike“: What´s your formula for calculating the feelslike temperatures?
• „precip“: What´s the unit of the precipitation?
• What´s the unit of „solarradiation“ and what´s the one of "solarenergy"? (I´m actually looking for the number of hours of sunshine, but it doesn´t seems like that it´s available.)

  Hi Sophia,

  As for your specific questions: 

  - "temp": correct it is the average of the full 24h day and we don't have a break by daytime - you can look at the hourly values directly though.

  - "feelslike": the details of feels like measures are outlined under https://www.visualcrossing.com/resources/documentation/weather-101/what-is-the-difference-between-temperature-heat-index-wind-chill-feels-like-temperature-apparent-temperature-and-realfeel-temperature/ 

  - "precip": this depends on the unit system you select. for metric it is millimeter. You find a full list under https://www.visualcrossing.com/resources/documentation/weather-api/unit-groups-and-measurement-units/ 

  - "solarradiation" is reported in  W/m² and "solarenergy" in MJ/m² . Additional solar parameters are available as described here: https://www.visualcrossing.com/resources/documentation/weather-api/energy-elements-in-the-timeline-weather-api/

  So am I right, that visualcrossing doesn´t provide the number of hours of sunshine?!

  Hi Sophia, 

  that is correct. We do have the cloud cover value though on an hourly basis (see excerpt from https://www.visualcrossing.com/resources/documentation/weather-data/weather-data-documentation/ below).

  Cloud cover is the amount of sky that is covered by cloud expressed as a percentage. The cloud coverage is for all altitudes. Daily values include the mean of the hourly cloud coverage values. 

  This is not quite what you are looking for but might be of help.
