How to empty the browser cache

From time to time you may need to clear the cache of your browser in order to ensure that you picking up all the latest components from the web.  This article will show you how to clear your cache for Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

 

Google Chrome

Open the menu in the upper right-hand side of the browser.  From that menu select “Settings”.

 

In the Settings window go to bottom and select “Show advanced settings”.  The Privacy section will appear and there you can select “Clear browsing data”.

A Clear browsing data window will pop up and in that window ensure that you have a check mark beside the “Cached images and files” and ""Hosted App Data" options.  The other options are optional based on your specific needs.

Click the “Clear browsing data” button and wait while the browser deletes the associated files.

 

 Microsoft Internet Explorer

 Open the "Tools" menu in the upper right-hand side of the browser.  From that menu select “Safety” and from the sub menu the "Delete browsing history..." entry

In the appearing "Delete Browsing History" dialogue make sure at least the option "Temporary Internet files and website files" is checked and click the "Delete" button.
